Singapore

An ultimate study journey to discover Chinese culture abroad

School Trips to Singapore

Singapore has an ethnical majority of Han Chinese and has been described by some as a Chinese island surrounded by Malay culture. The ancestors of many Singaporean China were originally from the Fujian Province in China. Most of the first Chinese to arrive in Singapore, Penang and Malacca married local Malay women and this union gave rise to a community of “Straits Chinese.” Peranakan (Malay for born here) are Chinese who married Malays and adopted the Malay styles of dress and cuisine. Students will explore the history of Chinatown in Singapore, life of the Chinese in Singapore, Chinese immigrants in Singapore, and Chinese customs among Chinese in Southeast Asia.

  • Singapore welcomes visitors to explore amazing things of the country all year-round due to the favorable weather conditions. The average temperature is between 23-33°C. There is a lot of precipitation throughout the year, and there are often showers and thunderstorms throughout the island. However, the rain is short-lived. It is cool and comfortable after the rain, and there is no typhoon, and the temperature difference between day and night is not large. Although Singapore does not have obvious four seasons, June, July and August are relatively hot. November to February is the rainy season.
