The Gallery showcases more than 8,000 pieces from Singapore’s National Collection, making it one of the world’s largest and most invaluable public collections of Singapore and Southeast Asian modern art from the 19th century to the present day. Visitors can expect a variety of enlightening programs including guided tours, artist talks, conversations with
curators and lecture series to gain deeper insights into the exhibitions.
The national gallery school programs support teaching, learning and research in art and museum education.
Educational workshops inspired by the artworks at SAM have been specially developed to offer students a multidisciplinary and holistic contemporary art experience. These workshops range from learning specific art techniques, to craft making that encourage originality and development of language skills and self confidence.
