About this Journey

Located in China’s largest metropolitan area, this program is designed to challenge students in their creativity and innovation through the use of technology to create Goldberg drawings to showcase the mechanisms they choose to create. Students will do advanced work for each STEAM course – ensuring they receive the maximum outcome from every activity. We are also able to adjust potential activities based on your curriculum & academic needs.

Program Details


  • Transfer to the education base where you will meet your WildChina STEAM program leader
  • STEAM Course 1: Start in groups to “overthrow Aristotle” and design the corresponding Goldberg installation drawings. Learn the application of mathematical knowledge such as proportions and coordinate systems
  • Put design into practice-build a simple Goldberg mechanism, learn about gravity, and understand the role of gravity in the design of the mechanism
  • Lunch and break
  • STEAM Course 2: Soles with technological power. Design and manufacture the Goldberg device on friction, study the influencing factors of friction, conduct hands-on experiments, and record experimental processes and phenomena. Share experiment results.
  • STEAM Course 3: Flip the world. Design and manufacture the Goldberg device for circular motion, experiment and record the magical experimental process and phenomena, summarize experience and share experimental results.
  • Transfer back
