About this Journey

Located in the outskirts of Chongqing, this day program focuses on outdoor team building and sustainability learning. We will help students to understand the UNSDG goals: Life On Land and Responsible Consumption and Production. Students will enjoy activities of harvesting crops and preparing food from local harvests. Students will leave with feelings of accomplishment and bonds that will last a lifetime.

Program Details

Itinerary

  • Opening ceremony and introduction to your WildChina program leaders
  • Visit the ecological farm and learn about the ecological model of organic farms
  • Get to learn about agricultural activities and tools commonly used
  • Understand the production process of glutinous rice cakes, select qualified glutinous rice and suitable tools
  • Experience to make glutinous rice cakes in groups
  • Learn to make glutinous rice cakes into delicious meals, and taste with lunch
  • Understand the safe use of tools for grinding soybean milk, learn the ratio of beans to water, and the steps to filter residues, etc.
  • Experience the process of grinding soybean milk and filter out the bean dregs
  • Learn to fully cook soy milk and taste it at lunchtime
  • Get food materials and prepare for cook, then learn to make fire for cook
  • Clean up and wash, get to learn about garbage classification
  • Learn about potato planting, management, mining methods and nutritional value
  • Dig potatoes, remove soil, and then frame
  • Clean up the field
  • Transfer back
