About this Journey

600 years of history, more than 20 legendary emperors; the Forbidden City is full of mystery. For children, the imperial palace is history’s best classroom. Its rich culture and historical stories provide a broad space and content. Today, we are excited to come to the Forbidden City to experience and learn about this once forbidden royal land up close and personal – taking your students on a journey that encompasses China’s history.

Treasure Hunt

The Forbidden City is littered with legends of gods and beasts, from the most famous ridgeback beasts, to several gods and beasts of the dragon’s nine children, who have been doing their jobs for more than hundred years with great dedication. We will lead the children to find them one by one and complete the collection of gods and beasts.

Itinerary

  • 9:00 Meet WildChina program guide at main entrance gate of Forbidden city (Meridian gate)
  • 9:15 Mapping activity near the Hall of Supreme Harmony By showing the layout of Forbidden City and building concepts, the kids could design their own palace on a paper by using their imagination and stickers.
  • 10:15 Activity
  • 12:45 Break to eat packed lunch
  • 13:45 Activity
  • 15:45 Transfer back to campus
