About this Journey

Qiandao Lake is a man-made reservoir that has served as a nice getaway from the city life of Shanghai. This program is designed to help students develop their team building and leadership skills through nature-based exploration and activities such as camping and rope climbing challenges. Students will walk away with memories and real experiences that will last them a lifetime.

Program Details
Itinerary

Day 1: Camping

  • Transfer from school to Qiandaohu camp base by Thousand Island Lake where you will meet your WildChina program leader
  • Lunch at campsite
  • Set up camp and break into small groups
  • Participate in various team-building activities, puzzles, and challenges at the campsite
  • BBQ Dinner
  • Enjoy a Bonfire party
  • Participate in a Constellation Observation, stargazing activity
  • Reflection Session

Day 2: Kayaking

  • Wake up and have breakfast
  • Learn how to Kayak with professional instructors
  • Lunch
  • Kayaking activity in the afternoon
  • Return to the hotel and freshen up
  • Dinner & Reflection

Day 3: Rope Activity and Departure

  • Wake up and have breakfast
  • Group 1 Challenge yourself with various high ropes and low ropes challenges at an adventure park with the guidance of professional instructors. Challenges include courses such as the Donkey Bridge, Tower climb, Broken Bridge, Spider Web, etc… –
  • Group 2 Participate in a sustainability discussion before an Environmental Service session. Groups are divided into trash pick up, composting, invasive plants weeding, etc… (activities depend on the time of year and local need. All safety/hygiene equipment is provided)
    • Groups 1 & 2 will be doing activities simultaneously, then switch in the interest of time and quality of learning
  • Lunch
  • Check out of accommodations and transfer back to school
