About this Journey

Located in two of Zhejiang’s most scenic spots, this program is designed to help students learn about Chinese Public Health through water preservation projects, site visits, and lectures. Not only will students get to enjoy the West Lake in Hangzhou and Qiandao Lake just a few hours drive away, they will also get access to places like the Nongfu Spring Water plant and participate in DIY water filter workshops. Students will walk away with a deeper understanding of Public Health and Water Preservation that will last them a lifetime.

Program Details

Day 1: West Lake Scavenger Hunt

  • Meet WildChina Program Leader in Hangzhou
  • Visit West Lake Park for scavenger hunt
  • Welcome Dinner followed by the amazing Impression West Lake show
  • Check in to hotel

Day 2: Nongfu Spring Water Plant Visit

  • Transfer to Thousand Island Lake
  • Lunch
  • Visit Transfer to Nongfu Spring Water Plant and learn the process of purifying and bottling
    drinking water
  • Transfer to Qiandao Lake for DIY water purifier project
  • Dinner
  • Hotel check-in and rest
  • Walk along Qiandao lake (optional)

Day 3: Introduce Qiandao Lake Water Protection Project

  • Transfer to the rural village to learn the public health in rural area
  • Learn about local public health project in the Huang village
  • Introduce the Qiandao Lake water resource protection project to students. Help with local
    water resource protection project at Qiandaohu (the ecological balls)
  • Lunch
  • Hiking around Qiandao Lake (AnYang exercise hiking route)
  • Dinner

Day 4: Local Government Visit

  • Visit local office for disease control and prevention and learn about Public Health
    management in Qiandaohu
  • Lunch
  • Transfer back home
