School trips abroad, class residentials, subject-based field trips, ECAs, service learning programs, as well as adventurous journeys, are all part of WildChina Education’s offerings to schools & universities. We are always striving to deliver once in a lifetime curriculum outside of the classroom through the hundreds of programs we design each year.
One of WildChina Education’s recent school trip programs is Insight China, a 13-day school trip to Beijing, Yangshuo, and Shanghai, allowing you lots of time to explore three distinct locations in the country once known as the Middle Kingdom.
With the expanded China–US flights this fall, it is easier than ever for your students to explore all that China has to offer.
It would be the perfect time of year for your students to explore the wonders of China’s great classical cities. This 10-day school trip called Classical China: Great Cities offers a unique opportunity for students to delve into the rich history, vibrant culture, and breathtaking landscapes of China.
Days 1 to 3
Our adventure begins in Beijing, the capital city, where students will be captivated by iconic landmarks such as the Great Wall, Forbidden City, and Temple of Heaven. They will have the chance to immerse themselves in Chinese history and gain a deeper understanding of its significance.
Your students will take part in a student-led cultural immersion activity called the Amazing Race Challenge. Through this challenge, your students will be able to practice their Mandarin. They ’ll also get to explore Beijing ’s historical Hutong Alleys (胡同巷子, hú tóng xiàng zi) through this interactive and educational game. Before dinner, you will visit a traditional teahouse where you ’ll learn about the customs of Chinese tea at a tea-tasting ceremony.
Days 4 to 6
The Summer Palace and Kunming Lake are two more places you will visit. To practice their Mandarin, your students can try socializing with the locals! While you ’re there, you ’ll also learn Taichi from a Taichi Master and try out the Chinese Yo-Yo.
Next, we travel to Xi’an, home to the awe-inspiring Terracotta Warriors. Students will witness the incredible craftsmanship and learn about the historical importance of this archaeological wonder. The city’s ancient walls and bustling Muslim Quarter also offer glimpses into Xi’an’s cultural heritage.
Days 7 to 10
Students get to explore the Terracotta Warriors (兵马俑, bīng mâ yông) museum and even try making little clay Terracotta Warriors in a workshop. They will experience yet another tea ceremony at a nearby teahouse and explore the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which was built way back in the seventh century.
We’ll end our trip in Shanghai, a modern metropolis that perfectly blends tradition with innovation. From exploring the enchanting Yu Garden to wandering along the iconic Bund, students will witness firsthand how China has evolved yet maintained its cultural identity.
